What you will do
- Assess and examine emergency medicine patients, obtain medical histories, and identify health issues and care needs.
- Develop and implement treatment plans that may include diagnostic tests, medications, procedures, medical or surgical services, and patient education.
- Review laboratory results, imaging, scans, and pathology reports as part of clinical decision-making.
- Document assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and patient interactions in the EHS electronic medical record within 48 hours.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, support personnel, and administration to coordinate patient care and practice operations.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient satisfaction, education, staff meetings, credentialing, and coverage planning.
Requirements
- Provide care in accordance with applicable New Hampshire laws and regulations, accreditation standards, medical staff bylaws, and EHS policies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, infection control, safety, and universal precaution requirements.
- Arrange clinical coverage for unplanned absences and coordinate scheduled coverage with the Medical Director.
- Submit credentialing and re-credentialing information to Medical Staff Services within 20 days of receiving the application.
- Work scheduled patient contact hours in emergency department and urgent care locations; the work shift is variable.
