Sociology & Anthropology Non-Tenure Track Faculty (Applicant Pool)

Location: Face-to-face and online teaching; appointments are based on departmental needs and may last from a few weeks to an academic year.

hirify.global’s Department of Sociology and Anthropology provides undergraduate education and research opportunities in sociology, anthropology, and justice systems within the College of Letters & Science.

What you will do

• Teach upper- and lower-division courses in sociology, criminology, anthropology, or related areas.
• Deliver face-to-face lectures and online courses.
• Teach large sections of introductory undergraduate classes.
• Hold office hours and communicate with students.
• Support student learning and contribute to a collegial academic environment.

Requirements

• Relevant degree and experience in sociology, anthropology, or a related field.
• Experience teaching in a face-to-face lecture format.
• Experience teaching large sections of introductory classes.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues and students from all backgrounds.

Nice to have

• PhD in sociology, anthropology, or a related field.
• Evidence of teaching excellence.
• Experience teaching in both face-to-face and online formats.

• Non-tenure-track pooled appointments are available for fall or spring semesters.
• Appointments may be part-time and vary in duration from a few weeks to an academic year.
• Benefits eligibility depends on FTE.
• Positions of 0.5 FTE or more may be represented by the Associated Faculty of hirify.global; positions below 0.5 FTE are not represented by the union.
• This position is not eligible for new sponsorship.
