TL;DR
Field Service Electronics Technician (Power Systems Electronics): Troubleshooting, repairing, converting, and testing SEL products at customer sites with an accent on component-level repair, analog and digital electronics, and microprocessor-based systems. Focus on diagnosing complex hardware problems, identifying root causes alongside technicians and engineers, and supporting customer needs with up to 75% travel.
Location: Lewiston, Idaho, United States; customer-site work and travel up to 75% of the time
Pay range: $32.88–$48.60 per hour for Technician I, $35.83–$52.94 per hour for Technician II, and $40.50–$59.85 per hour for Technician III

What you will do
- Test, repair, convert, and troubleshoot SEL products to the component level.
- Perform complex repair work at customer sites as part of the Mobile Product Hospital team.
- Work with technicians and engineers to identify root causes of hardware problems.
- Maintain knowledge of SEL products and processes to support product quality and integrity.
- Provide basic troubleshooting training to junior personnel.
- Partner with other divisions to address customer needs.
Requirements
- Two-year degree in electronic engineering technology or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of analog, digital, and microprocessor-based electronics.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Ability to work in an electronics laboratory environment and solve complex technical problems collaboratively.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 20 pounds frequently and 35 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to sit and stand for at least 8 hours, use computer keyboard devices, differentiate colors, and perform reaching, bending, and twisting.
Nice to have
- Two years of experience in electronic design, manufacturing, or testing.
- Working knowledge of structured programming.
- Process improvement experience.
