Software Engineer (Oracle/Banner)

Location: Full-time, on-site position based at the Bozeman, Montana campus, United States; limited travel and occasional nights or weekends may be required.

Salary: $72,540–$79,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.

hirify.global’s University Information Technology department provides technology services and supports enterprise administrative applications across the four-campus university system.

What you will do

• Build and maintain custom applications, third-party integrations, interfaces, and automated business processes.
• Manage the software life cycle of enterprise applications supporting Finance, Student Services, Human Resources, and Financial Aid.
• Monitor existing solutions, respond to support requests, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and resolve software defects.
• Analyze business needs and user requirements, then develop technical specifications and system solutions.
• Collaborate with technical peers through pair programming and code reviews, and work with business partners on requirements, testing, deployment, and support.
• Coordinate with vendors to develop and troubleshoot integrations while maintaining data security and system integrity.

Requirements

• Education in computer science, information technology, or a related field plus recent programming experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Successful experience analyzing system specifications and developing software to meet requirements.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience programming with a procedural or object-oriented language.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work independently and in project teams, exercise judgment, and support varied technical and functional stakeholders.
• Must work on site at the Bozeman, Montana campus; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Oracle databases or PL/SQL.
• Experience with Git or other source control management software.
• Experience with Node, React, REST APIs, or GraphQL.
• Experience with Linux or Unix-based operating systems.
• Higher education experience and familiarity with Ellucian technologies such as Banner, Experience, or Ethos.
