TL;DR
Heavy Equipment Technician (Diesel and Hydraulic Systems): Repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, compact equipment, service equipment, and light trucks with an accent on diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and emissions. Focus on diagnosing complex mechanical problems, performing engine overhauls, interpreting equipment diagnostics, and maintaining safe and productive fleet operations.
Location: Kenedy, TX, USA; onsite

What you will do
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, compact equipment, light service equipment, and light trucks.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, chassis, drivelines, hydraulics, brakes, electrical systems, suspension, wheels, tires, and undercarriages.
- Service equipment such as compactors, excavators, wheel loaders, and other fleet vehicles.
- Complete engine overhauls and interpret oil sampling, onboard computer, and fleet management software data.
- Document parts usage, repair times, consumables, fuel, and oil usage in work orders and fleet management systems.
- Follow safety procedures and communicate with supervisors and operators about defects and preventive techniques.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a heavy equipment technician, including progressively challenging maintenance repairs.
- Advanced knowledge of air brakes, tires, hydraulics, electrical systems, drivetrains, suspension, steering, and wheel-end components.
- Mechanical trade school certificate or degree and a certificate in electrical diagnostics.
- Applicable ASE certifications and working knowledge of Tier 4 emission systems.
- At least 1 year of technician experience applying OSHA Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, and Fire Protection regulations.
- Welding and/or fabrication skills or experience.
