Adjunct Faculty - Honors College

Location: Commerce, Texas, United States; on-campus instruction during the day and/or evening

East Texas A&M University’s Honors Program provides undergraduate and honors education within the Texas A&M University System.

What you will do

• Teach up to seven semester credit hours, covering up to two Honors College courses per academic year.
• Develop and manage course syllabi in accordance with department and college standards.
• Plan lectures, in-class discussions, assignments, and examinations.
• Assess student participation and academic performance.
• Assist and mentor students as needed.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the relevant field for undergraduate teaching, or a terminal degree in the field or a closely related field for graduate teaching.
• Experience teaching first-time-in-college freshmen or transfer students.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Cover letter, resume/CV, three professional references with complete contact information, and transcripts are required.
• Employment is contingent on credential verification and completion of a criminal history check.

• College or university teaching experience and evidence of teaching excellence.
• Familiarity with transformative learning, high-impact practices, experiential learning, and honors education.
• Experience supporting student transitions.
• Prior relevant industry experience.
