Paralegal 2 (Workers' Compensation)

What you will do

• Manage Ohio workers' compensation defense files from the administrative phase through litigation and trial.
• Request, organize, and review medical records and claim documentation.
• Prepare IME background letters and coordinate independent medical examinations.
• File continuances, appeals, and other submissions through ICON and manage Industrial Commission of Ohio requirements.
• Track hearing dates, appeal deadlines, and statutory timeframes before the BWC and Industrial Commission.
• Prepare pleadings and discovery documents, provide trial support, and communicate with clients, medical providers, and commission staff.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience handling Ohio workers' compensation claims through litigation and trial.
• Demonstrated experience with ICON filings and Industrial Commission of Ohio procedures.
• Experience preparing court pleadings and handling discovery requests and responses.
• Trial support experience, including exhibits, witnesses, and evidence coordination.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software.

• OSHA or workplace safety experience.
