TL;DR
Lead AI Engineer (Agentic AI/LLMs): Architecting Axos Bank’s next-generation enterprise AI platform and defining engineering standards for agentic systems, integrations, and MCP servers with an accent on prompt engineering, governance, and responsible AI. Focus on designing reusable agent networks, establishing quality and testing frameworks, measuring business ROI, and mentoring senior AI engineers.

What you will do
- Define the strategic direction and architectural standards for AI engineering across the organization.
- Design enterprise-scale agentic systems, domain-specific agents, and reusable integration patterns.
- Establish standards for prompt engineering, LLM integration, agentic workflows, MCP servers, and AI skills and plugin platforms.
- Define quality frameworks, metrics, testing strategies, responsible AI guardrails, and governance practices.
- Lead AI automation initiatives, discovery and requirements methodology, ROI measurement, and executive business-case communication.
- Mentor senior AI engineers and drive technical growth, architecture governance, and organizational transformation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering and/or AI/ML engineering.
- 3+ years leading technical teams or shaping organizational technical strategy.
- Demonstrated expertise designing and deploying production AI systems at scale.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent strategic-level expertise.
- Expert-level knowledge across the AI stack, including prompt engineering, agentic systems, enterprise integrations, and responsible AI governance.
Nice to have
- 4+ years of hands-on production experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic systems.
- Expert proficiency in Python and JavaScript, with strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
- Experience with REST, GraphQL, gRPC, CI/CD, automated testing, Qdrant, Databricks, and enterprise data engineering.
- Leadership experience scaling AI/ML teams and developing talent.
- Experience in banking, fintech, financial services, or other regulated industries; AI security and prompt-injection mitigation expertise.
