Category Manager (Telecom Services)

Estimated base salary: $68,100–$104,700 USD annually.

Provides mission-critical bandwidth and communications infrastructure, including dark fiber, private data networks, wavelengths, Ethernet, and dedicated Internet access across North America and Europe.

What you will do

• Develop and execute category strategies, roadmaps, sourcing plans, and business cases.
• Manage category revenue, margin, cost savings, supplier performance, and overall commercial health.
• Lead sourcing events, RFPs, RFQs, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance reviews.
• Analyze market trends, pricing, spend, supplier landscapes, and competitive benchmarks to identify optimization opportunities.
• Develop forecasts, budgets, KPI targets, and recommendations while mitigating supply, pricing, and commercial risks.
• Partner with Procurement, Operations, Sales, Product, Finance, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to implement category and supplier changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, procurement, merchandising, or related commercial functions.
• Experience with telecommunications, fiber, or construction management.
• Demonstrated experience leading supplier negotiations and contract management.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools, with experience managing spend, revenue, margin, or category performance metrics.
