Commercial Underwriting Manager (Title Insurance)

Location: Hybrid opportunity in Tampa or Orlando, Florida, USA

Salary: $117,500–$156,700 annually

What you will do

• Manage the daily activities of a team of underwriters and potentially oversee title professionals and support personnel.
• Provide underwriting expertise to employees, agents, and customers regarding real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
• Apply underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits.
• Provide guidance on real estate settlement services.
• Lead departmental operations, project reviews, planning, scheduling, and operational decisions.
• Conduct performance reviews, coach employees, and contribute to hiring and compensation recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5–7 years of directly related experience in the title industry.
• 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Experience designing, developing, and executing complex projects within a functional area.
• Strong communication, presentation, listening, influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining talent while supporting accountability, collaboration, and change management.

Nice to have

• Juris Doctor degree.
• Experience collaborating with senior and executive management on operational and talent decisions.
