TL;DR
Manager Manufacturing Solution Prep - Nights (Biotech) (cGMP manufacturing operations): Leading safe, compliant manufacturing operations and developing frontline staff with an accent on operational reliability, quality, safety, and production execution. Focus on coordinating 12-hour night-shift operations, driving Lean and continuous improvement initiatives, and allocating agile manufacturing resources across teams.

Location: US - Rhode Island - West Greenwich; onsite manufacturing role. Initial onboarding lasts 2–6 weeks on an administrative schedule from Monday to Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; afterward, the role moves to a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on a rotating C or D shift covering seven days per week.

Salary: $106,148–$143,612 annual base salary, plus a 15% shift differential and eligible Total Rewards benefits.

What you will do

  • Lead on-the-floor manufacturing operations and staff while reinforcing safety, quality, and cGMP expectations.
  • Coordinate shift activities, task allocation, production targets, scheduling needs, and issue resolution with cross-functional partners.
  • Supervise, coach, hire, onboard, evaluate, and develop manufacturing employees.
  • Identify and lead process improvements that increase efficiency, throughput, reliability, and compliance.
  • Plan cross-training and dynamic resource allocation across AR5 and AR30 through the Agile Workforce model.
  • Translate departmental strategy into daily and shift-level execution plans, using metrics, audit outcomes, process data, and staff feedback.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED plus 12 years of Manufacturing and Operations experience, or an Associate’s degree plus 10 years, Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years, Master’s degree plus 3 years, or a Doctorate degree.
  • Direct people-management or leadership experience involving teams, projects, programs, or resource allocation.
  • Ability to work the stated rotating 12-hour night-shift schedule after onboarding.
  • Experience or knowledge in a cGMP or other highly regulated environment, including technical elements of engineering, biological, or chemical processing.
  • Experience with change management, team development, performance management, coaching, conflict resolution, and performance reviews.
  • Strong communication, analytical problem-solving, flexibility, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Background in Life Sciences or Engineering.
  • Experience applying Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing.
  • User-level fluency with digital tools for daily management, data analysis, visualization, and Artificial Intelligence applications such as Copilot or ChatGPT.
