Location: Tufts Medical Center; onsite patient-care role
Pay range: $40.53–$51.67 per hour

What you will do
- Assess patients admitted with COPD, asthma, respiratory failure, asthmatic bronchitis, and related pulmonary conditions to determine education and follow-up needs.
- Coordinate respiratory orders for discharge and support patients transitioning home.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, case managers, social workers, and support services to develop care plans.
- Educate patients on disease management, medications, oxygen therapy, delivery devices, inhaler technique, smoking cessation, and advanced care planning.
- Conduct follow-up calls and coordinate referrals to pulmonary rehabilitation and pulmonary function services.
- Maintain admission and readmission data and participate in continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
- Massachusetts Respiratory Care licensure and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pulmonary Disease Educator Certification, or obtain it within six months of hire.
- Three years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Ability to stand and walk for approximately 90% of the workday and transport respiratory therapy equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care, Health Sciences, or a related field.
- Five years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
