Software Engineer (Backend) Python + Django (vulnerability intelligence): Building backend systems and data pipelines that transform device data into accurate vulnerability matches, with an accent on REST APIs, distributed systems, and production reliability. Location: Hybrid in Bucharest, Romania, with remote work and regular attendance at the Bucharest office

is a SaaS company building secure device management products for IT teams, including vulnerability detection and remediation capabilities.
What you will do
- Develop backend systems that transform device data into accurate vulnerability matches.
- Maintain and operate vulnerability detection services and data pipelines, including deployments, monitoring, and incident response.
- Onboard vulnerability data sources with different data formats and integration requirements.
- Investigate false positives, false negatives, and customer-reported detection issues to identify root causes.
- Collaborate with Customer Support, Product, and Engineering to improve detection accuracy, reliability, and customer outcomes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software development experience with hands-on exposure to live production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience building and maintaining REST APIs with Django or FastAPI.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases and search or indexing datastores such as Elasticsearch.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalability principles.
- Ability to read unfamiliar codebases, work with unstructured data, and trace technical issues to their root cause.
Nice to have
- Experience with vulnerability management, CVE/CPE data, or security-related tooling.
- Familiarity with Linux, macOS, and Windows systems internals.
- Experience with Redis or comparable caching solutions.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
