Internship or Thesis – Research & Development (m/f/d)

What you will do

• Design mechanical and electronic concepts for smart physical prototypes.
• Develop prototypes using additive manufacturing and create packaging concepts with a reduced environmental footprint.
• Conduct feasibility studies, synthesize and characterize polymers, and formulate hair care products.
• Analyze datasets, develop consumer-facing product demonstrations, and create and validate product and material test methods.
• Model complex fluids and materials to predict product or process performance.
• Support the digitalization of manufacturing and supply chain processes and develop coaching or gamification concepts for personalized consumer experiences.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled at a European university in a relevant engineering, physical science, natural science, or life science program.
• Completed at least the first two semesters of a bachelor’s degree.
• Remain enrolled for the full internship period; internships last 3–12 months, while thesis projects generally last 6 months.
• Demonstrated academic excellence, solid technical skills, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Available to start an internship on the first day of a month.

Nice to have

• Experience or academic focus in mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial, precision, mechatronic, packaging, computational, or mathematical engineering.
• Background in chemistry, polymer chemistry, physics, materials technology, mathematical modeling, biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, biophysics, or statistics.
