Senior Manager, IT SOX

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; hybrid policy requiring staff to work from an office at least 25% of the time.

Annual salary: $230,000–$300,000 USD.

What you will do

• Execute and scale the IT SOX compliance program across IT General Controls, IT Application Controls, and system risk assessments.
• Advise on control environments for automated DevOps pipelines, emerging agentic identity models, and AI-first systems.
• Partner with Engineering, Security, IT, DevOps, Finance, GRC, and external auditors on control design, walkthroughs, testing, and evidence requests.
• Identify automation and tooling opportunities, develop continuous monitoring capabilities, and shift controls from manual to automated reliance.
• Maintain audit-ready control documentation, track remediation of findings, and support SEC cybersecurity disclosure requirements.
• Guide internal team members and co-sourced partners while standardizing testing approaches and repeatable processes.

Requirements

• Hands-on IT audit or IT SOX compliance experience in a fast-paced technology environment.
• Deep knowledge of ITGCs, ITACs, and IT risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience auditing automated DevOps environments, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated deployments.
• Experience designing, testing, and documenting access management, change management, and computer operations controls.
• Ability to guide internal team members or co-sourced partners and communicate complex requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and professional experience.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of hands-on IT audit and SOX compliance experience, including Big Four or comparable experience.
• Experience with GCP, AWS, and/or Azure.
• Experience at a pre-IPO or newly public technology company and scaling SOX programs during rapid growth.
• Familiarity with Workday, Salesforce, GitHub, or modern SDLC controls.
• CISA, CIA, CISSP, CPA, or equivalent certification.
