TL;DR
Principal Machine Learning Engineer (GenAI Products with Enterprise Knowledge) (LLMs/RAG): Designing and building knowledge-grounded generative AI products, rapid prototypes, and scalable machine learning systems with an accent on retrieval, embeddings, multimodal modeling, and evaluation. Focus on translating applied research into production systems, defining groundedness and hallucination metrics, and providing technical leadership across retrievers, rankers, orchestration, and serving infrastructure.
Location: Singapore, Singapore; remote work is available

What you will do
- Design and build knowledge-grounded LLM, embedding, and multimodal modeling solutions.
- Develop rapid proofs of concept for agentic workflows and GenAI-powered assistants.
- Create evaluation methods for groundedness, hallucination detection, and human-in-the-loop quality.
- Provide technical direction across retrievers, rankers, orchestration, and serving infrastructure.
- Guide a small tiger team, mentor engineers and scientists, and transition prototypes into scalable systems.
- Shape the roadmap for advanced GenAI products and applied research in collaboration with Rovo, Jira Search, Knowledge AI, and Platform teams.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in ML/AI engineering, with deep expertise in LLMs, NLP, or search.
- Proven experience building and shipping ML-powered or GenAI-integrated products.
- Hands-on experience with RAG, embeddings, hybrid retrieval, or agentic workflows.
- Strong experience scaling machine learning systems from prototypes to production.
- Expert knowledge of GenAI ecosystems and fine-tuning or serving frameworks, including LangChain, LlamaIndex, and vector databases.
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with multimodal models, knowledge graphs, or semantic embeddings.
- Familiarity with NDCG, groundedness, and human preference modeling.
- Contributions to open-source ML frameworks or GenAI research communities.
- Experience mentoring engineers and scientists or shaping an AI innovation hub.
