Salary: $115,300–$170,400 per year

What you will do

  • Design and implement automation and process improvements across manufacturing systems, including PLC, HMI, and equipment integration.
  • Lead and coordinate automation projects, ensuring quality, alignment, and timely execution.
  • Develop solutions that improve safety, reliability, operator guidance, throughput, traceability, and cost performance.
  • Provide customer technical support during installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and control systems.
  • Develop product specifications, functional and validation tests, technical analyses, and product documentation.
  • Mentor Engineers and Associate Engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically 6+ years of experience setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting automation and control systems with serial and network devices and interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of automation and integration practices in an electrical utility, industrial plant, or engineering firm.
  • Strong knowledge of the OSI model and Layer 2, 3, and 4 networking principles, including switching, routing, and transport.
  • Strong technical presentation, training, writing, documentation, and speaking skills; willingness to travel up to 15%.
  • US citizenship, satisfactory background check results, and negative drug test results are required.

Nice to have

  • Expertise in PLCs such as Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, and Siemens; HMI/GUI design; fieldbus networks; safety systems; vision systems; and robotics integration.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics, applying industrial equipment standards, and using AutoCAD.
  • Advanced PLC programming with structured, maintainable coding methodologies and state-machine development for complex automation.
  • Experience with parallel processing, pick-and-place systems, data acquisition, PID control, and MES integration.
  • Experience leading electrical control panel design and build activities for large-scale automation and capital projects.
