TL;DR
Communications Coordinator - Aus4A (Climate Change Adaptation): Coordinating communications and outreach for a Vietnam-Australia climate change adaptation program with an accent on stakeholder engagement, media planning, and development of written and social media materials. Focus on producing success stories, reports, campaigns, and outreach products while supporting partners and tracking the program’s online presence.

Location: Hanoi or Can Tho, Vietnam; local nationals only, with travel within Vietnam to project target sites as required

What you will do

  • Coordinate communications and outreach for the Aus4Adaptation climate change adaptation program.
  • Develop activity updates, press releases, articles, newsletters, website content, brochures, social media materials, and success stories.
  • Coordinate with DFAT, communications outlets, program partners, grantees, and stakeholders on communications products and plans.
  • Support progress reporting, annual reports, workplans, and document finalisation.
  • Track the program’s online presence with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Team.
  • Undertake travel within Vietnam and other duties assigned by the Team Leader.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, public affairs, development, or a related field.
  • Relevant mid-career experience in communications, advocacy, outreach, or public diplomacy, preferably in bilateral or multilateral development programs.
  • Experience with donor reporting, program reviews, storytelling, learning processes, campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, interpersonal, organisational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and social media management skills, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Professional fluency in English and Vietnamese and valid work rights in Vietnam are required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Experience in climate change, resilience, natural resource management, environmental protection, or related development sectors.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of DFAT communications channels, strategies, and climate change adaptation priorities in Australia and Vietnam.
