TL;DR
Manufacturing, Production & Quality Engineer-Intermediate Level (Missile Defense): Providing quality, mission assurance, and manufacturing expertise for missile defense programs with an accent on production controls, developer-facility audits, and acquisition lifecycle support. Focus on conducting readiness reviews, verifying foreign object debris, electrostatic discharge, and contamination controls, and assessing manufacturing processes for compliance with MDA standards.
Location: QMA03 - AL - Redstone; hybrid work with onsite attendance at the MDA facility on Redstone Arsenal 1–2 days per week, transitioning to full-time onsite work. Periodic travel is required approximately once per quarter and may include overseas travel to Saudi Arabia.

What you will do
- Provide technical expertise across the program acquisition lifecycle in quality, mission assurance, and manufacturing.
- Apply QMA manufacturing principles and industry best practices to MDA program activities.
- Participate in cross-functional evaluations, assessments, tests, and technical interchange meetings for missile defense components.
- Conduct onsite verification and audits at developer facilities, including reviews of foreign object debris, electrostatic discharge, and contamination controls.
- Support production readiness reviews, pedigree reviews, first article inspections, manufacturing assistance, test readiness reviews, risk working groups, and the MDA four-phase test process.
- Review developer data, track manufacturing metrics, and provide weekly status reports on activities and issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in professional engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- At least 5 years of experience supporting quality, mission assurance, and manufacturing for systems, components, devices, or processes in operational programs.
- Experience leading the implementation of quality, mission assurance, and manufacturing principles across the program acquisition lifecycle.
- Experience applying systems engineering and manufacturing processes across the program acquisition lifecycle.
- Experience applying technical and scientific knowledge in production, quality, and mission assurance.
- Security clearance requirement: S.
