QA Tester (Systems Modernization)

Location: Hybrid role associated with McLean, Virginia, United States, and Washington, DC

What you will do

• Own quality assurance across the full testing lifecycle for modernized DHS ICE ERO mission systems.
• Analyze ambiguous legacy systems and translate operational workflows into testable requirements.
• Design, implement, and optimize test plans and scripts for functional, integration, API, data, and specialized testing.
• Document, track, and communicate defects through resolution while coordinating with engineers and stakeholders.
• Support requirements analysis, sprint ceremonies, test execution, defect management, and quality sign-off throughout the SDLC.
• Complete hirify.global-provided Palantir training and certification and apply QA practices on the platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on software testing experience in complex or enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Proficiency with JIRA and experience designing and maintaining detailed test plans and scripts; Xray experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience testing RESTful APIs, backend services, and data-driven applications in Agile or iterative delivery environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance.

Nice to have

• Security, Section 508 compliance, load, or performance testing experience.
• Experience with legacy system modernization, federal or mission-driven environments, enterprise data platforms, or large-scale integrations.
• Experience deriving test requirements from real-world system usage rather than formal documentation.
