Assistant Professor & Assistant Dean (Architecture and Construction Management)

What you will do

• Manage budgets, staff, policies, faculty affairs, academic programs, and student services.
• Represent the Dean and support curriculum development, program quality, student success, and retention.
• Assist with faculty hiring, promotion, tenure, mentoring, and personnel actions.
• Teach at least two undergraduate or graduate courses each semester in architecture, construction science, or a related specialization.
• Support research initiatives, grant activities, college-wide projects, and professional and community service.
• Coordinate studios with technical courses and help students prepare for professional careers.

Requirements

• Terminal degree in Architecture, Construction Science, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• At least seven years of undergraduate and/or graduate teaching experience.
• Administrative or academic leadership experience managing programs, faculty affairs, and student matters.
• Knowledge of architecture, construction science, construction management, industry practices, and relevant accreditation standards, including NAAB and ACCE.
• Strong communication, presentation, strategic planning, organizational, leadership, and collaboration skills.
• Scholarly, creative, professional, or industry accomplishments and the ability to support research, grants, and special projects.

Nice to have

• Ten years of teaching experience and at least eight years of professional architecture or construction industry experience.
• Experience managing design processes or construction projects, including energy efficiency, sustainability, and public infrastructure.
• LEED, construction project management, or OSHA Safety certification.
• Peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or professional recognition.
• Experience with Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit/Dynamo, Navisworks, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.
