What you will do
- Support the Master of Science in Science Education program in collaboration with the program director and faculty lead.
- Advise and mentor graduate students on programs of study, course selection, registration, committees, degree requirements, and graduation procedures.
- Serve on the MSSE and Graduate Certificate Admissions Committee and act as a liaison between admitted students, the Graduate School, faculty, and university offices.
- Coordinate communications about courses, deadlines, events, procedures, and important dates.
- Support recruitment through advertising materials and representation at regional and national meetings.
- Provide administrative support, including coordination and facilitation of the summer symposium capstone.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus experience working with undergraduate students in an academic or student support setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with academic curricula, degree requirements, policies, and procedures in higher education.
- Knowledge of higher education offices and resources that support student success.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, maintain accurate records, exercise judgment, and work independently and collaboratively.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working with graduate students in an academic or student support setting.
- Experience with DegreeWorks, CatCourse, Banner, MyInfo, or relational databases.
- Experience collaborating with graduate schools and international programs.
