What you will do
- Manage patient flow, prepare medical records, and communicate delays to patients and providers.
- Prepare exam rooms and escort pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety.
- Record vital signs, pain levels, medication information, and other patient data.
- Assist physicians and nurses with examinations, treatments, procedures, specimen collection, and diagnostic or surgical arrangements.
- Perform ordered point-of-care testing and equipment quality-control checks.
- Provide administrative support, including electronic medical record scanning, billing documentation, interpreter coordination, telephone messages, faxing, and supply management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active enrollment and good standing in a school with an affiliation agreement is required.
- Ability to read, write, and spell in English for accurate documentation and message taking.
- Basic to moderate computer skills, including electronic medical record systems, scheduling software, documents, spreadsheets, and email.
- Knowledge of patient handling, universal precautions, HIPAA confidentiality, and age-specific patient care.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift 30–35 pounds or assist with turning patients.
