General Liability Technical Specialist

Location: Richardson, Texas, United States

Annual base salary: $85,600–$141,200, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Handle assigned severe General Liability bodily injury and property damage claims throughout the claim life cycle.
• Investigate liability, damages, coverage, and contribution potential through interviews, records review, field investigations, and expert resources.
• Evaluate exposures, establish indemnity and expense reserves, maintain claim files, and ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
• Develop creative resolution strategies, negotiate settlements, and dispose of claims within delegated authority.
• Manage litigated claims, including counsel selection, litigation planning, discovery, legal expenses, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials.
• Provide technical consultation, training, coaching, and claims expertise to field teams and business partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least two years of bodily injury liability claim handling experience or comparable litigation claim experience.
• Three years of bodily injury liability claim handling and/or litigation experience preferred for the role.
• Strong knowledge of coverage, contract interpretation, liability and damages analysis, policy language, exclusions, ISO forms, claims practices, and litigation.
• Intermediate negotiation, customer service, communication, analytical thinking, judgment, investigation, settlement, medical, and insurance contract knowledge.
• Insurance licenses may be required and generally must be obtained within three months of starting, with ongoing continuing education.
