Equipment Technician II, Calibrations (Comprimido Diurno L-V)

Location: Alajuela, Costa Rica; onsite technical work in an indoor production and laboratory environment. Work schedule: compressed daytime schedule, Monday through Friday.

What you will do

• Administer the calibration system, including documentation, tracking, databases, and calibration status records.
• Execute and document internal calibrations for manufacturing and laboratory equipment and measuring instruments.
• Coordinate external calibration services and document repairs, testing, calibration, and inspections.
• Set up, adjust, and operate equipment such as Instron Tensile Testers, MicroVu and SmartScope systems, optical comparators, and laser measurement systems.
• Prepare calibration procedures, results, technical findings, and reports for Engineering review.
• Support troubleshooting, self-inspections, quality compliance, and safe operation of the work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; a technical degree in Quality, Production, Electronics, Electromechanics, Maintenance, Metrology, or a related field is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in calibration, metrology, maintenance, manufacturing support, quality systems, or a related technical environment.
• Knowledge of calibration and metrology principles, measurement equipment, instrumentation, technical documentation, and calibration databases.
• Ability to follow SOPs and calibration procedures, apply GMP requirements, maintain accurate technical records, and interpret measurements and basic statistics.
• Intermediate English required for reading and writing; verbal communication is a plus.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email, databases, Windows-based systems, and reporting tools.

Nice to have

• University studies in Engineering.
• Experience with measurement equipment and instrumentation.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
