Commercial Underwriter (Real Estate Title Insurance)

Salary: $97,700–$130,300 annually

What you will do

• Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization for the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
• Apply underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits.
• Advise company personnel on real estate settlement services.
• Issue underwriting standards and guidelines in line with established company processes.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of title underwriting experience; commercial experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with real estate law and a strong understanding of title and settlement processes.
• Strong analytical, business, negotiation, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to collaborate, make decisive judgments, build relationships, and communicate alternative solutions tactfully.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Maryland title practices and recording requirements.
• Commercial real estate underwriting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.
