What you will do
- Lead the transition from broadcast-focused newsrooms to multi-platform newsrooms through daily content production, training, and guidance.
- Develop station content strategies and pitch local and trending stories during morning meetings.
- Research, interview, and verify information for accurate news coverage.
- Write, shoot, edit, and produce reports for broadcast, web, social media, and other digital platforms.
- Review copy for grammar, punctuation, accuracy, and compliance with editorial standards.
- Build digital campaigns and use social media and websites to strengthen brand recognition and engage viewers.
Requirements
- Degree in journalism.
- Daily newspaper or news site experience.
- Working web samples and/or print pages are preferred.
- Proficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and basic HTML is preferred.
- Positive team participation, cooperation across departments, and responsiveness to feedback.
Nice to have
- CSS, Flash, and other relevant technology skills.
