APAC Industrials Analyst (Equity Long/Short)

What you will do

• Build and maintain detailed commercial company and industry models for the Industrials sector.
• Develop fundamental views on Asian Industrial sectors using company research, industry analysis, valuation, and high-frequency data.
• Identify and communicate industry and stock-specific catalysts to support investment decisions.
• Conduct diligence, channel checks, conference attendance, and industry research as directed by the Portfolio Manager.
• Build and maintain high-frequency databases for stock coverage and monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with the Portfolio Manager, sell-side analysts, research associates, and salespeople on investment ideas and recommendations.

Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience covering China, Japan, and Korea markets within Industrials.
• Coverage experience across Hong Kong/China, Japan, and Korea Industrials, including autos, airlines, factory automation, and defense.
• Exceptional financial modeling, valuation, analytical, and commercial skills.
• Ability to ramp up quickly on new companies, generate independent ideas, and manage multiple priorities.
• Native Mandarin speaker with excellent communication skills.
• High intellectual maturity, sound judgment, attention to detail, resilience, and intellectual curiosity.

Nice to have

• Experience covering other Asian markets.
• Buy-side experience in Long Only, hedge fund, or sovereign wealth fund environments.
• Sell-side equity research experience.
