TL;DR
Network Engineer III - Spectrum Business (Networking/Security): Building, optimizing, and supporting complex network environments with an accent on network architecture, routing and switching, security, voice, video, and wireless services. Focus on designing network configurations, troubleshooting escalated operational issues, implementing protocol and infrastructure enhancements, and supporting high-complexity projects.
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Office environment with routine maintenance during the 12 a.m.–6 a.m. change window, possible on-call work, network lab work, and occasional travel.

What you will do
- Participate in network planning, architecture design, engineering, configuration, and optimization.
- Integrate communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links, and protocols into complete network configurations.
- Implement network enhancements, protocol compatibility standards, approved procedures, and recommendations for improvement.
- Evaluate new products and troubleshoot routing, switching, security, voice, video, and wireless services.
- Develop and document technical standards and procedures.
- Provide escalated tier support, contribute to medium- and high-complexity projects, and collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of data network experience.
- Advanced knowledge of network security and firewalls, including Fortinet and Meraki.
- Advanced knowledge of routing and switching, including Cisco and Adtran, as well as voice and video technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of the OSI model, TCP/IP, optical transport, Ethernet, bridging, switching, routing, network design, topology, devices, appliances, and industry standards.
- Must be able to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future. English reading, writing, and speaking ability is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Python and Selenium.
- Experience administering and developing Microsoft SharePoint sites and Chalk.
- Experience with Visio and ticketing and operational support tools.
