Location: Based in Mojave, California, United States; hybrid partial remote/on-site arrangements may be considered for well-qualified candidates.
Base salary: $147,667β$262,294 for Principal level or $168,450β$299,210 for Senior Principal level.

engineers operationally realistic hypersonic flight testing with reusable, air-launched Talon testbeds and delivers flight data for system validation and technology deployment.
What you will do
- Provide company-level technical leadership in Guidance, Navigation and Controls from theory through hardware implementation.
- Create technical standards, best practices, and common toolchains for GNC engineering.
- Lead teams in resolving high-impact engineering problems through activities such as Failure Review Boards, root-cause and corrective-action analysis, and Tiger Teams.
- Develop engineering capability roadmaps and lead their implementation.
- Propose and lead internal research and development projects, while supporting proposals, white papers, recruiting, and hiring.
- Mentor and develop junior engineering colleagues.
Requirements
- US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DOW security clearance are required.
- 15+ years of relevant experience for Principal level or 20+ years for Senior Principal level, with a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Deep experience deriving and implementing GNC architectures, requirements, system sizing, trade studies, and estimation and data-fusion systems.
- Experience with embedded systems, RTOS and FPGA implementation of algorithms, flight-test data analysis, and model updates.
- Knowledge of flight dynamics, propulsion, controls, estimation, air-vehicle navigation, and autopilot architectures.
- Strong technical leadership, communication, analytical thinking, and ability to solve multidisciplinary engineering problems independently.
Nice to have
- Experience with hypersonic or high-supersonic vehicle development and flight testing.
- Systems engineering, requirements verification, MBSE, technical roadmaps, and HWIL development experience.
- Knowledge of navigation aids such as SoOP, SLAM, and celestial navigation, as well as adjoint and optimization methods.
- Experience with safety-critical software, Git, C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python.
- Active DOW security clearance.
