TL;DR
GSE Manufacturing Engineer I (Aerospace): Coordinating the procurement, fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning of ground support equipment for launch vehicles, spacecraft, and R&D with an accent on manufacturability, operability, supplier coordination, and build execution. Focus on reconciling design intent with as-built hardware, managing non-conformances, creating manufacturing bills of materials and RFQs, and delivering complex welded and fluid-system assemblies on schedule.
Location: Onsite at the rocket manufacturing site in Briggs, Texas, just north of Cedar Park

What you will do
- Own and improve the work order process from engineering drawing release through fabrication completion.
- Coordinate material procurement, organization and kitting, non-destructive testing, assembly, proof testing, coating, and commissioning.
- Work directly with technicians to reconcile design intent with as-built hardware.
- Make make-or-buy decisions and manage suppliers, contractors, and internal customers against budget and schedule requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on operability, serviceability, and manufacturability.
- Create milestone-based schedules, manufacturing bills of materials, RFQs, and virtual inventory while managing non-conformances.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- 3β5 years of manufacturing experience with welded structural assemblies, pipe and tube assemblies, large precision machines, and sheet steel bending and cutting.
- Knowledge of weldment NDE methods, including fluorescent dye penetrant, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic testing.
- Experience with CAD software, preferably Siemens NX, and Odoo or a comparable ERP system.
- Knowledge of GD&T and familiarity with ASME Y14.5, plus functional knowledge of valves, tubing, piping, and flanges.
- Must meet U.S. Government ITAR export-control eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AWS D1.1 and D17.1.
- Experience working outdoors or on shop floors with technicians and welders.
- Experience with forklifts, cranes, lifting, or rigging.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
