Scientist, Preclinical Research, Robotics & Digital Solutions - MedTech Surgery (Robotics)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States of America; hybrid. Up to 15% domestic and international travel may be required.

Salary: $92,000–$148,350 per year.

What you will do

• Support product evaluations using animate, inanimate, and cadaveric models.
• Perform research for minimally invasive robotic surgery products and procedures.
• Design, plan, and execute preclinical animal studies assessing safety, performance, and effectiveness.
• Coordinate studies in support of the Study Director and lead less complex studies when appropriate.
• Document laboratory activities and ensure compliance with USDA, AAALAC, J&J animal-use policies, and 21 CFR Part 58 GLP.
• Assess preclinical risks, interpret evidence, and contribute to study reports, abstracts, manuscripts, and regulatory evidence strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of related scientific or technical experience in preclinical research.
• Experience executing preclinical studies in a GLP environment.
• Understanding of medical device development, preclinical regulations, good documentation practices, animal welfare regulations, and IACUC.
• Ability to contribute to preclinical programs on time, within budget, and in compliance with SOPs and regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience in medical devices or robotics.
• Experience with large animal models.
• Experience supporting global regulatory submissions for medical devices, biologics, or drugs, including PMA, BLA, NDA, or international equivalents.
