Manager Software Engineering (Electronic Communication Compliance)

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States; hybrid

Salary: $144,000–$216,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop product and engineering team members, including performance management, hiring support, onboarding, succession planning, and career development.
• Manage vendors and vendor-supported platforms, including issue escalation, delivery commitments, roadmap alignment, and service performance.
• Lead responses to production incidents through triage, ownership, root cause analysis, remediation, and stakeholder communication.
• Translate compliance, product, and operational priorities into execution plans while balancing delivery capacity, dependencies, regulatory obligations, and platform health.
• Improve planning and delivery discipline through backlog health, sprint readiness, dependency management, and follow-through.
• Partner with Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Enterprise Technology teams to support communications surveillance, records retention, and evolving communication technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4–5 years of professional experience and 3–5+ years working with modern engineering tools, platforms, and software delivery practices.
• 1–2 years of technical leadership experience, with or without direct reports.
• Experience designing and delivering significant technology solutions in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience with Agile delivery, business-critical applications, operational platforms, or compliance-related technology.
• Experience working with third-party vendors and communicating effectively with technical, product, compliance, and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with electronic communications monitoring, surveillance, regulatory compliance, records retention, cybersecurity, governance, risk management, or related compliance technology platforms.
• Familiarity with highly regulated business environments.
