What you will do
- Coordinate FIBWA training requests, schedules, stakeholders, government agencies, instructors, and guest speakers.
- Deliver didactic and hands-on training in biological threat detection, biosurveillance, diagnostics, and laboratory operations.
- Develop and maintain course curricula, Points of Instruction, presentations, protocols, laboratory exercises, and training materials.
- Manage classroom and teaching laboratory operations, including equipment, reagents, inventories, calibration, validation, and safety compliance.
- Evaluate student performance through written and practical laboratory examinations and maintain course records.
- Support technology evaluation, technical reporting, proficiency testing, operational missions, and domestic or international diagnostic activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, biology, life sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
- Five or more years of related laboratory experience, including diagnostics, biosurveillance, biological threat detection, or laboratory operations.
- Experience developing and delivering technical training programs and preparing instructional materials and technical reports.
- Experience maintaining laboratory equipment, inventories, controlled environments, and regulatory compliance activities involving GLP, CLIP, DoD, and Army requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active SECRET security clearance.
- Successful completion of background and drug screening is required.
Nice to have
- Experience handling bacterial or viral pathogens and working in BSL-2, BSL-3, or BSL-4 laboratories.
- ASCP certification or equivalent laboratory certification.
- Experience with CDC Laboratory Response Network activities, field laboratories, proficiency testing, or operational response missions.
