Field Installer (Temporary)

Location: Duluth, Georgia, United States; office attendance is required, with 75% or more travel for domestic and international installations.

Salary: $61,500–$97,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $76,500–$114,500 annually.

What you will do

• Install and test remote sensing antenna systems, antenna ground stations, and satellite communications terminals.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair complex equipment and systems.
• Prepare technical reports and recommend solutions to technical problems.
• Test antenna performance against specifications.
• Support customers and collaborate with engineering, assembly, quality, and contractor teams.
• Supervise contractors, rigging, crane operations, and day-to-day site installation activities.

Requirements

• 2+ years of related experience and a Technical Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience assembling large-scale mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and reading civil and mechanical fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of construction safety procedures and experience resolving problems from design engineering through production assembly.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, pass grip and strength testing, and direct cranes lifting antenna assemblies weighing up to 20 tons.
• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a United States Secret security clearance are required.
• Ability to come into the Duluth, Georgia office and travel 75% or more, including extended domestic and international assignments.

Nice to have

• Mechanical and electrical background assembling complex antenna systems from drawings and schematics.
• Experience installing satellite ground stations up to 24 meters in diameter.
• Photogrammetry knowledge for reflector adjustment.
• Experience operating manlifts and forklifts and leading large subcontractor groups.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
