South Carolina Transportation Market Lead (Transportation Engineering)

Location: Columbia or Charleston, South Carolina, United States; hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work.

What you will do

• Lead and grow the transportation platform across South Carolina, with a primary focus on Columbia and statewide agency relationships.
• Build trusted partnerships with SCDOT and local transportation agencies while tracking funding programs, priorities, and opportunities.
• Partner with senior leadership on pursuits, positioning, and long-range transportation market strategy.
• Build, mentor, and develop a team of project managers and technical staff.
• Provide executive-level oversight of key transportation projects, ensuring quality, performance, and client satisfaction.
• Represent the firm at industry conferences, agency meetings, and professional organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 8+ years of progressive transportation engineering experience.
• Experience working with state DOTs and public-sector transportation agencies.

Nice to have

• Established relationships within the South Carolina transportation market.
• Experience leading or growing a transportation practice or market sector.
• Experience with major transportation pursuits or programs.
