Geophysicist (Oil and Gas)

Location: Houston, TX, United States

What you will do

• Evaluate and interpret seismic attributes, surface seismic, borehole data, and integrated geological information for current and potential oil and gas assets.
• Assess geophysical techniques for project and reservoir characterization and recommend investment opportunities through geophysical and geological analysis.
• Generate structural and stratigraphic interpretations, hydrocarbon potential assessments, depth maps, and structural maps for reservoir development and drilling.
• Apply advanced structural inversion techniques and specialized geophysical applications, including gather and AVO analysis.
• Coordinate and design surface and wellbore data acquisitions for optimal cost-benefit outcomes.
• Design and manage processing and reprocessing workflows and communicate interpretations across asset teams.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in oil and gas geoscience with an emphasis on geophysics.
• Bachelor’s degree in geophysics from an accredited four-year university or college.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, 2D/3D workstations, and Hampson Russell.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, project management, administrative, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in geophysics.
• Strong working knowledge of geological and geophysical database systems.
