Chief of Staff (HR Technology)

Location: San Francisco, CA; must be based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco and work onsite five days per week

What you will do

• Partner directly with the CEO and executive leadership team on company strategy, priorities, and execution.
• Drive complex, cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through execution and measurable outcomes.
• Translate executive priorities into action plans, owners, timelines, and accountability mechanisms.
• Prepare leadership meetings, board meetings, investor discussions, analyses, business cases, and recommendations.
• Establish operating rhythms including company goals, KPIs, business reviews, and executive follow-ups.
• Identify bottlenecks, lead special projects, conduct market and competitive research, and build scalable operating processes.

Requirements

• 4–8+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, investment banking, product, or a high-growth technology company.
• Proven ownership of complex cross-functional initiatives with measurable business outcomes.
• Exceptional analytical, structured problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong business judgment, ability to work with incomplete information, and ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.
• Strong proficiency with spreadsheets, presentations, and modern productivity tools.

Nice to have

• Experience working directly with a CEO, founder, or executive leadership team.
• Background in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital.
• Experience at a high-growth, venture-backed technology company or with strategic and annual planning.
• Exposure to board and investor relations, SaaS, HR technology, payroll, workforce management, or marketplaces.
• Experience launching 0→1 initiatives or a strong technical and data background.
