What you will do

  • Perform venipunctures and collect blood specimens using aseptic techniques and safe clinical practices.
  • Verify patient identities, requisitions, and electronic medical records while resolving discrepancies.
  • Schedule appointments, coordinate blood draws, access patient records, and support continuity of care.
  • Track specimens, maintain collection logs, document interactions, and support timely reporting of results.
  • Respond to patient, account, and sales inquiries; investigate escalated issues and arrange sample redraws when needed.
  • Follow testing schedules, quality-control procedures, CAP CLIA standards, and applicable healthcare regulations.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of phlebotomy experience, including required oncology experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; BS/BA degree preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification as required by state regulations.
  • Strong communication, critical-thinking, problem-solving, multitasking, and independent-work skills.
  • Successful completion of clinic-specific compliance requirements, which may include background and drug screening, license and competency verification, immunization records, TB testing, physical examination, and facility onboarding.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
