Instructional Technology Specialist (LMS and educational technology): Administering and supporting the university learning management system and integrated instructional tools with an accent on technical troubleshooting, faculty consultation, training, and digital accessibility. What you will do
- Administer and maintain the university learning management system, including accounts, permissions, authentication, integrations, feature options, and sub-accounts.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot complex LMS and instructional technology issues for faculty, staff, and students.
- Monitor vendor updates, assess their impact, coordinate change management, and communicate changes to end users.
- Consult with instructors and campus stakeholders on course design, instructional technology, governance, and learning tool integration.
- Develop documentation, tutorials, workshops, and training for LMS users and non-credit program administrators.
- Manage course archives, enrollment data, manual account and enrollment changes, data retrieval, and digital accessibility support.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in technology, education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
- Hands-on experience with learning management systems and experience supporting users with varying levels of technical proficiency.
- Experience consulting with instructors, faculty, staff, or other professional users to identify needs and recommend instructional technology solutions.
- Ability to communicate technical and instructional concepts through consultations, presentations, workshops, training, and documentation.
- Working knowledge of instructional design, pedagogy, online course development, and/or digital accessibility.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience with Canvas LMS, Ellucian Banner or other student information systems.
- Professional experience in systems administration, educational technology, user support, or higher education.
- Project management experience with LMS or educational system projects.
- Experience developing professional development or training for faculty and staff.
- Experience supporting digital accessibility and accessible online course materials.
