Head of Commercial Finance (Built Environment)

What you will do

• Provide commercial finance leadership, financial insight, and constructive challenge to support strategy, investment decisions, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.
• Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting, working with the CFO and regional and business services leaders to establish and deliver financial plans.
• Run monthly business reviews with Regional Directors, delivering KPI analysis, revenue modelling, and reporting on risks, opportunities, profitability, cash flow, and performance.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies, while improving revenue recognition, long-term contract accounting, working capital, and cash management.
• Develop finance team capability through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
• Improve finance processes, systems, and controls, including ongoing optimization of Dynamics 365.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent.
• 15+ years of experience in commercial finance, business partnering, and financial leadership roles.
• Professional services or consultancy experience is essential.
• Experience leading high-performing finance teams and influencing senior stakeholders in a matrix environment.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical and strategic thinking, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Excel and ERP systems expertise; Dynamics 365 experience is desirable.
