What you will do
- Establish and maintain corporate emergency response standards, guidance, preparedness expectations, and training programs.
- Plan, deploy, and evaluate emergency response drills and exercises, identify readiness gaps, and implement lessons learned.
- Manage the corporate crisis management framework, including escalation protocols, response roles, crisis plans, and scenario guidance.
- Coordinate Crisis Management Team activation, situational awareness, decision-making, resource coordination, and escalation during significant incidents.
- Provide technical guidance to site and regional teams and coordinate with EHS, operations, Legal, IT, Security, Communications, and executive leadership.
- Review emergency response programs, support audits and corrective actions, and integrate crisis management into operational risk and management systems.
Requirements
- Unrestricted right to work in the United States is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, engineering, emergency management, or a related discipline, or 15+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- 10+ years of experience in emergency response, crisis management, operational risk, process safety, EHS, or related fields within petrochemical, chemical, industrial, or other high-hazard environments.
- Experience leading or supporting significant incident response, emergency preparedness, crisis exercises, cross-functional coordination, and corrective-action initiatives.
- Advanced knowledge of ICS, NIMS, or equivalent incident management frameworks, plus experience with incident tracking or emergency notification systems.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure and communicate clearly with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders in global or multi-site environments.
Nice to have
- FEMA ICS/NIMS training or emergency management certification.
- CSP, CIH, business continuity, process safety, or equivalent credentials.
