Senior Automation Technical Training Instructor (Power Systems)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 per year for the Senior Engineer level; the range may vary for candidates hired at a different level.

What you will do

• Create, teach, maintain, and follow technical training for automation system design, development, and implementation.
• Provide technical expertise on communication networks, real-time controllers, RTUs, HMIs, upstream SCADA integration, and industry-standard protocols.
• Configure custom controller logic for fault location, isolation and restoration schemes (FLISR) and substation control systems.
• Develop technical processes and procedures for power system automation and new technologies.
• Mentor employees and teach safe work practices, risk aversion, human performance improvement, and error-reduction tools.

Requirements

• Excellent teaching, training, and mentoring skills.
• In-depth experience with communication networks, control logic development, system integration, and industry standards.
• Strong writing, documentation, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, own assigned responsibilities, learn new skills, and collaborate with a team.
• Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time.
