Gas Contracts Analyst (Oil and Gas)

What you will do

• Perform monthly plant volume allocations and process PPAs across processing plants and gathering systems, including offload and upstream loss allocations.
• Process gas sales volumes, deductions, and pricing accurately and on time.
• Analyze monthly sales volume and value variances and prepare detailed flux explanations.
• Collaborate with Production and transportation parties to resolve 8/8 volume discrepancies.
• Support period closing, audits, prior-period adjustments, revenue recognition compliance, and special projects.
• Train and mentor junior staff and supervise assigned employees as needed.

Requirements

• At least seven years of experience in oil and gas revenue accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year university or college.
• Strong problem-solving, data management, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including functions, macros, and data analysis tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of natural gas liquids, gas processing plant shrink and yield factors, and gas and crude marketing activities.

Nice to have

• Five or more years combining gas plant accounting, revenue accounting, finance, and IT functions.
• Experience with SQL and analytics platforms such as Alteryx.
• Experience with SAP PRA or similar ERP systems.
• Certifications or coursework in data analytics, IT systems, or project management.
