Sr Phlebotomist - Fulton, MD

Location: Onsite in Fulton, Maryland; this is not a remote position

What you will do

• Verify test requisitions and patient identities before collection.
• Obtain blood specimens through venipunctures and finger sticks.
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic technique and isolation procedures.
• Track collections, maintain daily tallies, and record quality-control results.
• Resolve unusual test orders with physicians, pathologists, nursing stations, and reference laboratories.
• Manage patient reports, billing questions, patient follow-up, and courier pickup scheduling.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certificate if required by the state.
• BS/BA degree preferred.
• Ability to follow hospital policies, professional standards, legal regulations, and JCAHO standards.
• Scrubs are required in the office work environment, and each draw must be tracked.
