Gen Maintenance/Mechanic II

Location: Tufts Medical Center; onsite hospital buildings and grounds

Salary: $20.12–$25.15 per hour

What you will do

• Perform general, preventative, and corrective maintenance across hospital buildings and grounds.
• Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and install electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other facility components.
• Carry out work involving sheet metal, pipe fitting, carpentry, tile setting, painting, roofing, and related maintenance crafts.
• Use welding equipment, plumbing equipment, power tools, grinders, drills, and hand tools.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance work orders and respond to daily demand work orders.
• Maintain records, report faulty equipment and unsafe conditions, manage the hospital lock and key system, and participate in snow removal and sanding.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of building maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and safe equipment operation.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications and apply basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting knowledge.
• Ability to perform frequent bending, squatting, standing, walking, climbing, and tool handling in a hospital facilities environment.

Nice to have

• Completion of a vocational or trade school program.
• Three years of building maintenance experience.
• Background in auto mechanics or HVAC mechanics.
