Sr. Dam and Levee RIDM Engineer

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, United States; hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work.

What you will do

• Build and advance Risk Informed Decision Making practices and resources for dam and levee safety.
• Manage dam assessment and rehabilitation projects.
• Provide senior technical direction, advisory support, and quality oversight for dam assessment and design projects.
• Oversee geotechnical engineering for dams, levees, and water resources projects.
• Support USACE dam safety programs and production centers.
• Supervise engineers, technicians, designers, and drafting personnel while monitoring scope, schedule, budget, and contract implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
• 8+ years of engineering experience, including independent decisions on engineering problems and methods.
• Familiarity with advanced engineering techniques and the modification and extension of engineering theories, precepts, and practices.

Nice to have

• Experience directing complex studies and investigations and developing recommendations for final reports.
• Experience managing large, complex projects involving intergroup coordination and consultant management.
• Extensive experience engaging clients, client staff, and regulatory agencies.
• Continuing education, professional activities, and publications in technical periodicals.
