What you will do

• Produce and edit original news content for broadcast, web, social media, and other digital platforms.
• Develop and lead content strategies for the station while supporting the transition to multi-platform newsrooms.
• Research stories, conduct interviews, attend relevant events, and verify facts using reference materials and public records.
• Determine story emphasis, length, and format, and review copy for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and editorial style.
• Pitch local and trending stories, build digital campaigns, and calendar promotions for local shows and specials.
• Use social media and the station website to strengthen brand recognition and engage viewers.

Requirements

• Degree in journalism.
• Daily newspaper or news site experience.
• Working web samples and/or print pages.
• Proficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and basic HTML preferred.
• Ability to maintain a positive work environment through teamwork and cooperation.
• Ability to respond positively to feedback.

Nice to have

• CSS, Flash, and other relevant technology skills.
