TL;DR
LDAR Field Project Manager (Oil and Gas): Leading field teams and managing leak detection and repair compliance programs at oil and gas facilities with an accent on safety, instrumentation, field documentation, and team coordination. Focus on reviewing calibration and instrument performance tests, maintaining PPE and equipment, conducting safety talks, and preparing field reports during 12-hour shifts.

Location: Santa Maria, California, USA; onsite field work. The role may require standby and on-call duty with the ability to respond to the facility within one hour.

Salary: $26–$30 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

  • Lead the field team and manage day-to-day LDAR and safety program compliance.
  • Conduct weekly safety toolbox talks and support a positive team environment.
  • Lead and participate in training and career development activities.
  • Manage PPE, supplies, technical equipment, and field personnel requirements.
  • Manage and review instrument calibrations, precision and response-time tests, and drift checks.
  • Prepare required field reports and maintain site safety certifications.

Requirements

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in natural gas processing or transmission facilities.
  • Intermediate knowledge of LDAR hardware and tools.
  • Effective computer skills, including Excel and Microsoft Office, plus proficiency with Android OS.
  • Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and a 4/10 schedule.
  • Valid driver's license and experience leading a team.
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods, carry technical equipment, work outdoors in all weather, climb ladders and stairs, work occasionally at heights, and lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Nice to have

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology or another applicable technical discipline.
  • Experience in hydrocarbon detection and measurement, LDAR, instrumentation, stack emission testing, or mechanical work.
