Sr. Project Manager – W/WW Transmission and Utilities

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work.

What you will do

• Lead water and wastewater transmission, conveyance, and utility projects from planning through design and delivery.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to meet scope, schedule, budget, and contract requirements.
• Manage project execution, including risk management, change management, stakeholder communication, and quality control.
• Make independent engineering decisions on complex problems and adapt methods to project needs.
• Build trusted relationships with Charlotte-area utilities and support client strategy, proposals, and business development.
• Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff through coaching, review, and feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
• 8 or more years of professional experience.
• Experience leading complex projects and making independent decisions on engineering problems and methods.
• Clear communication with clients, internal teams, and project stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering water and wastewater transmission and utilities work, including conveyance programs, transmission mains, pump stations, lift stations, or condition assessment and rehabilitation planning.
• Established credibility and trusted relationships with Charlotte-area utilities.
• Seller-doer experience, client development, and key-account growth.
• Experience administering contracts for complex consulting engagements.
• Participation in relevant professional organizations and continuing education.
